4-2-3-1 Everton Predicted Lineup Vs Sheffield Wednesday
Defence
Maarten Stekelenburg is expected to start in goal for the Toffees while Jordan Pickford will get some rest ahead of the clash against Man City in the Premier League next weekend. Silva could opt for the centre-back duo of Mason Holgate and Cuco Martina as they try to put in a commanding performance at the heart of the Everton defence.
Both players have been on the fringes of Silva’s squad, so this could be an ideal opportunity for them to perform well and stake a claim in Silva’s starting XI.
Seamus Coleman is expected to be rested for this game. Therefore Djibril Sidibe will start at the right-back spot while Leighton Baines returns to the Everton first-team to play on the other side as the left-back. Both full-backs will be responsible for stretching the pitch for the Toffees out on the wide areas.
Midfield
Tom Davies and Fabian Delph might play as the anchormen in midfield. Both players will look to put in a tireless shift at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Alex Iwobi, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Theo Walcott might lineup just ahead of them as part of the Toffees frontline.
Even though Calvert-Lewin might start in the number 10 role, it is expected that he will operate as a secondary striker just behind Tosun who will play as the centre-forward down the middle.
Attack
Cenk Tosun will spearhead Marco Silva’s attack up top. The Turkish striker has been starved of first-team opportunities at the Merseyside club this season. Hence, he will be desperate to score some goals and prove his worth to the Everton faithful.
Moise Kean could be available on the Toffees bench and might come on to play a part in this contest if required.
