Everton will face off against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday on the back of a hard-fought 3-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Toffees have won back to back matches against Lincoln City and Wolves which will give them a lot of confidence heading into this weekend’s Premier League encounter.
Marco Silva is expected to stick with his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation and might be tempted to name an unchanged side for this clash against the Cherries.
4-2-3-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Bournemouth
Defence
Jordan Pickford will start as the Toffees’ first-choice keeper despite conceding two goals each against Aston Villa and Wolves respectively before the international break. Jonas Lossl will be in a race against time to be fit for this clash. He could be available for a place on the Everton bench if he can pass a late fitness test on Sunday.
Silva will continue to play Yerry Mina and Michael Keane together as the defensive pair try to keep things solid at the back versus the Cherries this weekend. Seamus Coleman will lineup as the right-back as he tries to perform his defensive duties and be a decent outlet for his team going forward.
Lucas Digne will once again look to cause all sorts of problems for the opposition from the left-back position. The Frenchman has been a lethal weapon for the Toffees down the left flank, so he will look to stretch the pitch and put in some powerful whipped crosses into the Bournemouth penalty area.
Midfield
Andre Gomes and Fabian Delph will operate as the holding midfielders as they try to break up some of the Bournemouth attacks and retain possession for the visitors at the centre of the park. The dangerous trio of Alex Iwobi, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison will play just ahead of him as part of Silva’s attack. They would hope to link up with each other and create some decent goal-scoring opportunities going forward.
Both Iwobi and Richarlison got their names on the scoresheet against Wolves before the international break which will boost their confidence ahead of this weekend’s trip to the Vitality Stadium. Jean-Philippe Gbamin will miss out on Sunday as he is still spending time on the treatment table while recovering from a serious injury. However, Morgan Schneiderlin and Bernard should be fit enough to start on the Toffees bench and might come during the game if required.
Attack
Moise Kean will get another chance to lead the line for the Merseyside outfit up top. The Everton new signing has put in a few cameos, but he is yet to fire on all cylinders since sealing a summer move from Juventus.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will play second-fiddle to Kean on Silva’s bench and could get a chance to influence the contest if needed.
