Real Madrid have endured an average start to the 2019/20 season with one win and two draws in their opening three La Liga Santander fixtures. The club spent nearly €300 million on acquiring some of the finest talents available from Europe and South America as they would increase the productivity of the team at large.
The arrival of several new players was expected this summer and Florentino Perez met the expectations of the Spanish press and the Santiago Bernabeu faithful. Eden Hazard, Ferland Mendy, Rodrygo, Luka Jovic and Eder Militao were presented at the Santiago Bernabeu before the current season commenced.
Even prior to the arrival of these established players, Real Madrid boasted a squad which on it’s day was very difficult to keep at bay.
The 4th Official lists out three Los Blancos players to keep an eye on for this season.
Federico Valverde
Federico Valverde at just 21 years of age is earning a name for himself at Real Madrid with impressive performances off the bench. The player is spending his second season with the Real Madrid senior team after spending one season on loan at Deportivo la Coruna.
Valverde earned a name and place for himself in the squad under interim coach, Santiago Solari. The player has rarely started for Los Blancos but has been consistently given minutes by Zinedine Zidane. The 2019-20 season will be a make it or break it season for the Uruguayan international.
Brahim Diaz
Brahim Diaz returned to Spain with his a move from Manchester City to Real Madrid earlier this year. The player signed for Real Madrid in a fee in the region of €15 million just six months prior to the end of his Manchester City contract.
The 20-year-old has impressed everyone in the limited opportunities that have come his way since arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu. Brahim has scored one goal for Los Blancos which came against Real Sociedad last season. At just 20 years of age, he has a bright future in store if things go according to plan at Real Madrid.
Rodrygo
The Brazilian attacker is dubbed to be the next ‘Neymar’ and it will be interesting to see how Rodrygo lives up to those expectations. Rodrygo is the youngest player in the Real Madrid squad at 18 years of age and has also been named in Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League squad for the coming season.
The player scored a stunning free-kick in pre-season much to the awe of many spectators. The player is currently nursing an injury and is expected to be back after the International break.
