According to a recent report by Claret and Hugh, West Ham United striker Javier Hernandez will miss out on tomorrow night’s Carabao Cup encounter versus Newport County due to a thigh injury. The Mexican forward, who had a sickness bug, was not part of Manuel Pellegrini’s match-day squad last weekend when the Hammers won 3-1 at Watford.

With Hernandez not available, Pellegrini will now have a real dilemma in his hands. He would have to decide whether to play his first-choice striker Sebastien Haller, who was heavily involved at Vicarage Road on Saturday. Otherwise, the Hammers could opt for Michail Antonio, who is a bit unpredictable as he is a bit inconsistent with his performances on the field.
Either way, losing Hernandez to another injury will be a bitter pill to swallow for the East London outfit as they look to progress into the third round of the League Cup tomorrow night. Chicharito has scored one goal in two matches for the Hammers this season. He is a natural goal-scorer and would have enjoyed playing more minutes on the pitch.
