Aston Villa will entertain Everton at Villa Park on Friday night hoping to pick up their first points of this 2019-20 Premier League campaign. The Villans have suffered back to back losses against Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth respectively so they will be a bit low in confidence heading into this clash against the Toffees.
Dean Smith is expected to lineup his team in a 4-3-3 formation with Wesley Moraes leading the charge up top.
4-3-3 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Everton
Defence
Tom Heaton will start in goal for the Villans despite conceding five goals in his first two appearances of this Premier League campaign. The defensive duo of Björn Engels and Tyrone Mings will lineup at the heart of Smith’s backline with the hope of keeping things tidy at the back versus the Toffees later this week.
Ahmed Elmohamady will try to use his pace while he assumes the duties of a right-back. Neil Taylor will feature on the other side in the left-back position. The Villans defenders are in dire need of stopping goals in the English top-flight. Thus, it would take a hearty display from them to keep the Everton attackers at bay on Friday night.
Midfield
Smith might opt to stick with his midfield trio of Jack Grealish, Douglas Luiz and John McGinn as they look to create some decent opportunities from midfield. Both McGinn and Douglas has managed to find the back of the net this season. Hence, it’s high time that Grealish stepped up and scored a Premier League goal in front of the loyal home supporters inside Villa Park.
Attack
The Villans frontline would be comprised of Anwar El Ghazi and Mahmoud Hassan stretching the pitch out on the flanks while Wesley Moraes assumes the responsibility of leading the line in the final third. However, it won’t be an easy task for Smith’s front three as they will be up against a solid Everton defence that are yet to concede a goal in the top tier of England this season.
Villa won’t have Jonathan Kodjia available for this game, so a lot will ride on Wesley’s young shoulders as he looks to open his goal-scoring account for the home side on Friday.
