French media house, L’Equipe have claimed that Stanley Nsoki is now wanted by Italian giants, Juventus after failing to seal his move away from the Parc des Princes earlier this season with Newcastle United.
The English club have been linked with the player since 2018, and it is understood that a deal nearly went through this summer. Paris Saint Germain accepted a £10m bid, but the player was not interested in the wages being offered by Newcastle United.
Stanley’s switch to England ultimately collapsed with the player and Newcastle United’s negotiators failing to come to any definitive agreement. Newcastle ended up signing Jetro Willems for the left-back spot instead of Nsoki.
The player has had a difficult time at the French capital with only sixteen appearances to his credit since signing for Paris Saint Germain in 2014. The 20-year-old defender has failed to cement his spot in the starting eleven despite spending two seasons with the club’s senior team.
Juventus have shown interest in the youngster and are closing in on his signature with just under 48 hours left on the clock before the transfer window comes to a close. Juventus are also facing stiff competition from the French side, Nice.
The Italian side loaned out defender, Luca Pellegrini to fellow Serie A side Cagliari and are short of cover at the left-back position. Nsoki could end up being second fiddle to Alex Sandro at the Juventus Stadium. With many more years of prime football yet to come, Nsoki could end up being a mainstay at Juventus.
It will undoubtedly be a nasty blow under the belt for the Newcastle United faithful to lose out on such a prodigy to a Champions League side. Especially after having every piece of the puzzle solved except the very last one. At the end of the day, that’s football.
