Manchester City faced off against West Ham United at the London Stadium earlier today looking to kick off their Premier League title defence with a win. The Citizens began the match on the front foot and got themselves ahead in the 25th minute, courtesy of Gabriel Jesus’ goal.
Pep Guardiola’s side scored four more goals in the second half via a hattrick from Raheem Sterling and a penalty from Sergio Aguero which made the points secure for the away side. The match ended with the Mancunian outfit emerging victorious with a convincing 5-0 scoreline.

The Brazilian goalie made a couple of excellent saves in the second half to secure a clean sheet for his team.

He put in a commanding shift at the heart of the Man City backline to earn a well-deserved clean sheet for his side.

He was a dominant presence at the back and defended well with his teammates to keep the West Ham attackers at bay.
LB: Oleksander Zinchenko – 7/10
He linked up well with the Man City attackers and was a good outlet for his team down the left flank.

The Belgian midfield ace looked far from his best, but he still managed to make some dangerous runs in the opposition half.

The Spanish talent ran the show at the centre of the park after he made some vital interceptions for his side during the contest.

The Spaniard looked a bit off the pace in midfield but still managed to create some decent opportunities going forward.
RM: Riyad Mahrez – 9/10
The Algeria international played his part in four of Man City’s five goals on the day. He was a menace for the Hammers defenders and looked like a player in form.
ST: Gabriel Jesus – 8/10
The young Brazilian took his chance well in the first half. He was unlucky not to be awarded a second goal after his strike was disallowed.
LM: Raheem Sterling – 10/10
The English talent had a mediocre first half but scored a hattrick in the second to hand his team a convincing 5-0 win at the London Stadium.

The Argentine striker got some valuable minutes under his belt after coming on in the second half. He ended up converting a penalty in the 86th minute which would give him a boost moving forward.

The German came off the bench to see out a comfortable victory for the Citizens.

The Man City youngster had a good ten-minute run out which would do his confidence a world of good.
