Everton could only manage to grab a point from Selhurst Park after a lacklustre display against Crystal Palace last weekend. The Premier League contest finished with both sides sharing the spoils as Marco Silva was left with a bitter taste in his mouth. However, the Toffees would point to the fact that Morgan Schneiderlin was sent off for a rash challenge in the 76th minute, which led to two points being dropped by them on Saturday.
The Blues of Merseyside enjoyed a productive summer transfer period as they acquired seven new players in Alex Iwbi, Moise Kean, Andre Gomes, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Fabian Delph, Djibril Sidibe and Jonas Lossl. With so many fresh faces coming to Goodison Park, the Everton boss might have a difficult task in his hands in incorporating all of them in his first-team for the 2019-20 campaign.
Strongest 4-2-3-1 Everton Lineup For The New Season
Defence
Jordan Pickford will be the first-choice goalkeeper for Marco Silva’s team this season. The centre-half duo of Yerry Mina and Michael Keane will continue their partnership at the centre of the Toffees defence.
Djibril Sidibe should get the nod to start ahead of Seamus Coleman at right-back as he is younger of the two players. Lucas Digne is expected to have another productive campaign as he assumes the duties of a left-back.
Midfield
Silva will depend upon his new summer signings, Andre Gomes and Jean-Philippe Gbamin to lead the battle in midfield. The promising attacking trio of Alex Iwobi, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison operate ahead of them as part of the Toffees attack.
Iwobi needs to make a good start to his Everton career if he wants to win over the club’s loyal supporters. The former Arsenal man will be expected to make some penetrative runs down the left flank. Fabian Delph, Morgan Schneiderlin, Theo Walcott and Bernard are all expected to be part of Marco Silva’s match-day squads in this new campaign.
Attack
Moise Kean might be tasked to lead the line for the Toffees in the offensive end of the field. Even though Dominic Calvert-Lewin got a start against the Eagles last weekend, it is expected that the new summer arrival will regularly feature for the Merseyside club up top.
