According to Mirror, Paris Saint-Germain are weighing up a £100 million move for Wilfried Zaha. The Crystal Palace winger has been identified as the desired replacement for Neymar, who has been linked with a return to La Liga this summer.
The potential departure of Zaha will be a massive blow for Palace, especially with the transfer market in England already closed. But, they will have more than enough money to secure a replacement in the upcoming January transfer window. And in this article, we will talk about three Bundesliga stars the Eagles should target.
Filip Kostic
Filip Kostic is certainly not a like for like replacement for Zaha, in terms of style of play. But, the Serbian can provide the work-rate as well as the commitment in the final third. He is also good at delivering crosses into the box, which should be ideal for a Palace side that likes to operate with a target-man upfront.
Kostic has enjoyed immense success with Eintracht Frankfurt and has become an ever-present figure on the left flank. The ex-HSV star can operate as a wing-back as well, which should serve as a bonus for Roy Hodgson.
However, Palace will likely have to fork out a lucrative offer as Eintracht will be keen to hold onto their star player, especially after losing Sebastian Haller and Luka Jovic this summer.
Milot Rashica
Since joining from Vitesse Arnhem at the start of last year, Milot Rashica has become one of Werder Bremen’s most important players in the final third. The 23-year-old enjoyed a prolific season last term, scoring nine goals and providing five assists.
Rashica, much like Zaha, is an explosive winger, blessed with a sheer pace that makes him a scourge for the defenders on the counter. He loves to take on defenders as well while his productivity suggests that he could be an excellent replacement for the Ivorian international at Palace.
Rashica’s current contract at Bremen expires in 2022. But, the Eagles should try and make a move for the Kosovo international, who is currently one of the most talented wingers playing in Germany.
Jacob Bruun-Larsen
The rapid rise of Jadon Sancho has proved to be detrimental to the growth of Jacob Bruun-Larsen. The Dane initially emerged as one of Dortmund’s top academy talents three years ago. But, he hasn’t really been able to make a breakthrough into the first-team.
And with the Black and Yellows signing the likes of Julian Brandt and Thorgan Hazard this summer, it’s unlikely Bruun-Larsen has any future at Dortmund. The winger was notably linked with a move to Arsenal earlier this summer.
Larsen is someone who likes to get into the central areas of the pitch. He has an excellent positional sense in the final third and is adept in playing one-touch football. And at the age of 20, he is the youngest player on this list and should be a smart long-term investment for Crystal Palace.
