In a recent interview with Mundo Deportivo (translated by the Metro), Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Dani Olmo shed some light on his future amid interest from Manchester United and said, ‘We are talking about the best leagues in the world and they all have positive things.
‘La Liga is something more special because for me it is home, with my people.
‘But those of England, Germany and Italy also attract me very much.
‘[Barcelona?] It was my home for six years, why not? We will see. I don’t know if that door is closed or not.’
In a separate interview with T-Portal (translated by the Metro), the Spanish prospect also revealed what he is looking for at his new club and said, ‘Very simple – a club where I will play.
‘Because I am still young and for me it is most important that I have minutes.’
Olmo’s agent Andyja Baru refused to rule out a switch to Man United when he spoke to Sportske Novosti (via the Metro) and said, ‘At this point I can’t comment on it!
‘Serious talks start from today, ultimately decided by Dinamo and Olmo, of course.
‘I send all interested clubs to Dinamo and when the clubs agree a fee, I will come to agree on the conditions for Dani.
‘Dani can play for any club as he has already showed this at the Euro U21s.
‘When we are talking about Manchester United, they have no such player as Olmo.’
The Rapid Rise Of Dani Olmo At Dinamo Zagreb
The Spanish sensation enjoyed a superb season with Dinamo as he put in a series of outstanding performances for his team in the previous campaign. The 21-year-old made 44 appearances for the Croatian outfit in the last term, finding the back of the net on 12 occasions while creating nine assists in all competitions.
Olmo is versatile enough to play in multiple positions in the opposition half. He fancies playing in the number 10 position but can also perform well when asked to operate on the flanks. The Dinamo starlet is currently an important member of the Spanish Under-21 team, having featured in 10 matches while registering three goals for them thus far.
What Will The Spanish Whizkid Add To Solskjaer’s Team?
The Spanish starlet is not afraid to perform at the highest level and thrives when the pressure is on his young shoulders to deliver on the pitch. He has enough pace in his locker to make well-timed runs from midfield which allows him to wreak havoc in the final third. Olmo has also proven last season that he can score or assist goals consistently if given enough game time on the field, which has raised his value in the European transfer market.
Should The Red Devils Recruit Olmo?
Thus, if the Red Devils can ensure that he will be a regular member of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team next season, then it could give them an advantage in the race to secure Olmo’s services in this off-season. All in all, there is no doubt that Man United should try everything they can to bring the Spanish wonderkid to Manchester ahead of the new campaign.
