According to Fabrizio Romano of the Guardian, Everton have completed a deal with Juventus to sign the highly-rated Italian centre-forward Moise Kean this summer. The Toffees would pay an initial £29m for the forward, and the player would fly into England tomorrow to finalise this deal with the club.
Moise Kean’s Incredible Rise To The Top Of Italian Football
The 19-year-old began his playing career at Torino before making a switch to Juventus in the summer of 2011. He came through the Italian club’s youth system and fought his way up their youth teams before finally going out on loan to Hellas Verona for the 2017-18 campaign.
Upon his return to the Allianz Stadium, Kean finally managed to make an impact as part of the Juve first-team last season. The Italian rising star made 17 appearances for the Serie A champions in the previous campaign, scoring seven goals while grabbing one assist in all competitions.
The Vercelli-born talent has represented Italy at various youth levels. He has also managed to earn three international caps for the Italian national team while registering two goals in the process.
What Does The Serie A Striker Offer On The Pitch?
Kean is quick and agile enough to lead the line and stretch the pitch in the attacking third of the field. He is also a direct runner with the ball and is very unpredictable when he is taking on an opposing defender. At 19, the Italian forward has already started to find the back of the net on a consistent basis.
However, he is yet to prove his worth at the highest level. Therefore, the jury is still out on whether he can hit the ground running at Goodison Park. Recruiting a front player of Kean’s attacking potential will undoubtedly bolster Marco Silva’s options at the Merseyside club. He will not only add another dimension to the Everton attack but will also improve their squad depth heading into the new campaign.
Is Kean The Right Choice For The Toffees?
His pace, athleticism and goal-threat will undeniably make him a useful option for Silva as long as the Italian youngster can continue improving his game with each season. With Cenk Tosun not at all impressing which forced Silva to play Richarlison in an unfamiliar position of leading the line, this move makes sense on all fronts.
