According to a recent report by the Sun, Liverpool are in a three horse race with Manchester United and Arsenal in pursuit of Borussia Dortmund winger Jacob Bruun Larsen this summer. The same source has also mentioned that the Danish youngster is rated at £15m after he had a stellar breakout campaign at Dortmund last season.
Jacob Bruun Larsen’s Recent Emergence In The German Top-Flight
The 20-year-old was a regular feature in Lucien Favre’s first-team as he put in a series of impressive displays in the Bundesliga which raised his value in European football. Larsen joined the Lyngby Academy in Denmark at a young age before he earned a switch to Dortmund back in 2015. He has gradually worked his way up the German club’s youth ranks before being sent out on loan to VfB Stuttgart at the start of 2018.
His time spent away from Dortmund did the trick as he broke out as a first-team starter for Favre’s side in the previous term. Larsen made 30 appearances, scoring three goals while creating three assists in all competitions.
The Dane’s impressive displays in the UEFA Champions League caught the eye as he registered one goal and one assist in five matches for the German outfit in Europe.
The Bundesliga sensation has represented Denmark at various youth levels and has also managed to earn one senior international cap for his nation thus far. At 20, he still has a lot of years left in his locker to develop and become a world-class wide player someday. However, for now, he needs to work his socks off to try and build his game and prove his worth at the highest level.

Larsen is versatile enough to operate on either flank or play as an attacking midfielder if required. The Danish wonderkid has decent pace and is a very dangerous dribbler with the ball at his feet. He can make clever runs both with and without the ball to wreak havoc in the final third.

The addition of a player of Larsen’s potential will be a massive coup for Jurgen Klopp’s team if they can fend off stiff competition from Man United and Arsenal this summer. The Bundesliga talent has all the skillset needed to succeed at the Merseyside club but whether he would be able to handle the growing expectations at Anfield remains to be seen.
