In a recent post on Twitter, Chelsea wide man Callum Hudson-Odoi provided a positive update on his injury when he posted, “Recovery is going well, I hope to be soon be back on the pitch, let’s go!!”
This recent development will be a big boost for the Pensioners after they lost Maurizio Sarri to Juventus earlier this summer. To make life even more difficult, Eden Hazard has also departed Stamford Bridge to join Real Madrid which has put the pressure on young players such Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek to be productive in the opposition half next season.
Hudson-Odoi’s Frustrations At Stamford Bridge Last Season
The English winger had to endure a difficult campaign under Sarri as he was starved of first-team opportunities last season. However, his talents are there for everyone to see as he can dribble with the ball at high speed and contribute by scoring or assisting a few goals up top.
Even then, Hudson-Odoi needs to be more fruitful in the final third if he wants to fill Hazard’s shoes at the West London club. The 18-year-old made 29 appearances for Chelsea last season, scoring six goals while creating seven assists in all competitions.
At such a tender age, he has also earned two international caps for Gareth Southgate’s England side thus far. Hudson-Odoi has the potential to become one of the greats of English football so the Chelsea fans would be hoping that he can overcome his recent injury concerns and come back stronger than ever in the upcoming campaign.
Hudson-Odoi’s Early Return To Training: Huge Boost For Chelsea?
It seems like the English talent’s injury rehabilitation programme is progressing well. Hence, the new Chelsea boss would hope that the youngster can play an integral role in the following campaign. Hudson-Odoi’s return to training will be a massive boost for the Pensioners as they try to cope with FIFA’s two transfer window ban in the coming months.
With Hazard out of the picture and the uncertainty surrounding Willian’s long-term future at the Bridge, the English wonderkid will undoubtedly get more game time for the West London giants next season.
