Rangers will take on Hibernian FC this weekend, and they are unlikely to delay the inevitable anymore as even a Celtic draw would confirm their title irrespective of what Rangers does against the Hibs. However, Gerrard’s men have managed to create positive momentum, and they have now managed to win their last four games.
More than the wins, the manner of how they were achieved would impress the fans and the manager the most. They would again look to do the good work at Ibrox against the Hibs. A strong end to the season would showcase to the fans that Rangers will be ready to give Celtic a much sterner test in the next season. The Gers have failed to go past Hibs this season as they have played out three draws already. Gerrard would be looking to have the last say against the Easter Road side.
Team News
Alfredo Morelos has served his suspension, and he is going to be available for selection. Jamie Murphy and Graham Dorrans are long term absentees. Borna Barisic is back in training, and he is also set to be available.
Rangers Predicted Lineup Vs Hibernian FC
Formation (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Allan McGregor has been rock solid in goal, and he should start in between the sticks once again. Nikola Katic has looked impressive in the past few games, and he should start ahead of Joe Worrall. Connor Goldson has been the mainstay of Rangers’ defence. He should partner the Croatian at the back.
Jon Flanagan hasn’t done much wrong in the past few games, and he should continue as the left back. James Tavernier scored a brace in the last game, and he should start as the right back.
Midfield
Glen Kamara has been a crucial signing for the Gers, and he has made them look more solid and composed in central areas. He is expected to start. He is likely to be partnered by Ryan Jack whose energy is crucial for the Gers in the middle. Scott Arfield is likely to continue as the attacking midfielder.
Steven Davis has done an impressive job down the right. He will often look to tuck inside and Tavernier will provide the width down the right. Ryan Kent can change the game in a matter of moments, and he is likely to operate from the left flank.
Attack
Jermain Defoe hasn’t done much wrong, and we would like to see the English striker start over Alfredo Morelos. The Colombian can be used as an impact substitute later on in the game.
