In a recent interview with William Hill (via Goal.com), former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has urged Jurgen Klopp to consider recruiting Youri Tielemans from AS Monaco during the summer transfer period. Murphy told William Hill (via Goal.com), “The big clubs are always looking at what is next and where to improve.
“Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be back, which is a big plus, he will practically be like a new signing.
“Maybe they will let Milner go and one other. Then coming in, Tielemans has had a good season at Leicester, he can open a team up and I am sure Liverpool would love a player like that.
“You have to be careful; obviously supporters always want new signings in, but you can’t bring in too many and upset the dynamic.
“It is the manager’s biggest problem as he doesn’t want to upset too many players.
“Signings would be good, but they don’t need too much to be honest. If they were to win the Champions League, it makes them a lot more attractive.”
Tielemans’ Impressive Loan Spell In England
Tielemans has enjoyed a fantastic loan spell at Leicester City this season after putting in some eye-catching displays at the King Power Stadium during the recently concluded Premier League campaign.
The former Anderlecht prospect has made 13 appearances for the Foxes this term, scoring three goals while grabbing five assists from midfield in the Premier League. The AS Monaco talent has also secured 21 international caps for Belgium and has found the back of the net once for his country so far.
Tielemans has already proven his worth in English football, so it is no surprise to see some of England’s top clubs like Liverpool being urged to recruit him this summer.
What Will The Belgian Midfielder Bring To Merseyside?
Tielemans is a fantastic dribbler on the pitch and can make some lung-bursting runs from midfield without losing possession of the ball. He can also open up any defence with his incredible vision and weight of pass in the final third. The Belgian international is also a potent goal-threat as he can make some dangerous late runs into the opposition penalty area which enables him to get to the end of some decent opportunities in front of the opposing goal.
Should Klopp Move In For Tielemans This Summer?
At 22, Tielemans is yet to reach the peak years of his playing career which means that Liverpool can benefit from bringing him to Anfield ahead of the new season. Acquiring the Belgian sensation will undoubtedly improve Klopp’s midfield options at Merseyside. Hence, the Reds should consider listening to Danny Murphy’s advice and focus on recruiting Tielemans from AS Monaco this summer.
