Manchester City will clash heads with Watford in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening looking to pull off a domestic treble for the first time in English football’s history. The Citizens have already won the League Cup and the Premier League title so they will go into this game as heavy favourites to lift the prestigious English trophy in London tomorrow.
However, Javi Gracia’s men won’t be any pushovers as the Hornets have shown in the recent past that they have what it takes to give any English side a run for their money, especially in cup competitions. Pep Guardiola could opt to stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation to counter Watford’s 4-3-2-1 set-up.
4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Watford
Ederson is expected to start in between the sticks for the Citizens in the FA final after the Brazilian keeper secured four clean sheets in his last five outings across domestic competitions.
The reliable defensive pair of Vincent Kompany and Aymeric Laporte could get the nod to line up at the heart of Guardiola’s backline as they try to neutralise the threat of Watford forward Troy Deeney on Saturday evening.
Kyle Walker will continue as Man City’s primary right-back while Oleksander Zinchenko plays on the other side in the left-back position. The travelling Mancunian supporters will hope that their team doesn’t get complacent and can find a way to beat the Hornets this weekend.
Midfield
The Citizens midfield three would be comprised of Kevin De Bruyne, Fernandinho and David Silva as they look to dictate play at the centre of the park and create a few openings for the frontline in the Watford half.
Both Ilkay Gundogan and Phil Foden will be available for selection in Guardiola’s bench. The dynamic midfield duo might get a chance to come on and make an impact in the game if required.
Attack
The Mancunian outfit might opt for a strong frontline of Bernardo Silva, Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling up top. The talented trio has worked well together in recent outings so they would be quietly confident about finding the back of the net heading into this final at Wembley.
Riyad Mahrez and Leroy Sane are expected to start on the Citizens bench and could come on during the contest if needed.
