Barcelona will travel to the Balaídos to clash heads with Celta Vigo on Saturday night looking to celebrate their recent La Liga triumph with a win. The Catalans are coming into this game after beating Liverpool with a 3-0 scoreline in midweek.
However, Ernesto Valverde is set to make a whole host of changes to his side so that most of his first-team starters can get some rest ahead of the decisive final weeks of this campaign.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Celta Vigo
Defence
Jasper Cillessen will start in between the sticks as Valverde’s first-choice goalie while Marc Andre ter Stegen gets some well-deserved rest ahead of the second leg versus Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League next week. Both Samuel Umtiti and Jeison Murillo should get the nod to begin this encounter at the centre of the Barca defence. The duo will be desperate to impress as they are currently on the fringes of Valverde’s squad.
Gerard Pique might be named on the bench so that he could come on to influence the game in the second half if required.
Moussa Wagué will operate as the right-back looking to impress his manager going forward. Thomas Vermaelen could feature on the other side as a makeshift left-back. As long as the Barca defenders can remain calm under pressure, they should have enough quality to restrict the Celta Vigo attackers from scoring on Saturday night.
Midfield
Valverde could opt to go with the midfield trio of Carles Aleñá, Jean-Clair Todibo and Rique Puig as the Barca youngsters look to retain possession and dictate play at the centre of the park.
Sergi Roberto might have to settle for a place on the Catalans bench as Valverde might prefer to use him later in the game if needed.
Attack
The Catalans could start with a front three made up of Kevin-Prince Boateng, Ousmane Dembele and Malcom. The talented Barca trio would be expected to do most of the damage in the final third.
However, both Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez might be left out of the Barca squad as they need to be wrapped up in cotton wool so that the dynamic duo are ready for the game at Anfield next week.
