Celtic will take on Kilmarnock at the weekend after playing out a goalless draw against Hibernian FC. Given the lead Celtic have on the top of the table, they are still comfortably placed to win the title, but fans and the manager should be unhappy with the complacent performance of the players.
Hopefully, they can put up a show for the home fans this weekend. Steve Clarke’s men are coming on the back of a defeat against Aberdeen. The Hoops have won twice against the Killie this season including a thumping 5-1 win at Parkhead. Given the way Celtic have struggled to find goals of late, we expect it to be a low scoring affair.
Team News
Ryan Christie is going to miss out due to the facial injury he suffered. Dedryck Boyata is unlikely to play anytime again this season. Kieran Tierney has struggled with a pelvic and lower back injury throughout the season, and he is expected to miss out.
Celtic Predicted Lineup Vs Kilmarnock
Formation (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Scott Bain has firmly established himself as the no. 1 goalkeeper this season. He is set to continue in between the sticks. Kristoffer Ajer has proven himself in the past few months, and he is likely to start in the heart of the defence. He should be partnered by Jozo Simunovic.
Mikael Lustig has become the first choice option once again under Lennon, and the Swedish defender should be in his usual right-back position. Emilio Izaguirre is expected to start as a left back as Tierney is out injured.
Midfield
Scott Brown should start in the middle of the park along with Callum McGregor. The former will be in a more conservative role whereas Mcgregor would try to unlock the Killie defence with his incisive passing. Olivier Ntcham should miss out because of his poor form.
Tom Rogic is expected to start as the attacking midfielder in the no. 10 role. James Forrest is a guaranteed starter down the right flank as he has been in terrific form for most parts of the season. We believe Timothy Weah should get the nod ahead of Jonny Hayes and Scott Sinclair to start on the left flank.
Attack
Oliver Burke’s form at the start of the year was impressive, but he has struggled off late. Odsonne Edouard should get the nod to lead the line. The Frenchman has been inconsistent on occasions, but he is the best bet for Lennon right now.
