Manchester City dominated the proceedings from the very first minute of their clash against Crystal Palace as they notched up another win by 3-1. Raheem Sterling opened the scoring in the 15th minute of the match from a pinpoint cross by Kevin De Bruyne and doubled his tally in the 63rd minute with another brilliant strike.
The Eagles showed some late resurgence as Luka Milivojevic scored from a free kick in the 81st minute. Gabriel Jesus, however, ended all their hopes of a comeback with a cheeky finish in the 90th minute to put his side on the top of the table in the Premier League momentarily.
Here is how the Manchester City players were rated from their win against Crystal Palace.
Ederson: 7
A decent display in goal by the Brazilian. Could do nothing against Milivojevic’s brilliant strike as he conceded the goal.
Kyle Walker: 6.5
Kept getting into the channels down the right-hand side and initiated the attacks from the back. Looked good defensively as well but was a bit fatigued towards the end.
Vincent Kompany: 7
A gritty performance from the Belgian as he kept the opposition attackers at bay. Dealt well with the threat caused by Wilfried Zaha.
Aymeric Laporte: 7
Had a decent spell in the backline as he swept clear all the danger that came in his way with his clearances. Made some excellent interceptions as well.
Benjamin Mendy: 6
Looked good on the attack. His backtracking though was never spot on throughout the match as he allowed Andros Townsend too much space.
Ilkay Gundogan: 7
Did well to fill in for Fernandinho and kept vying for the ball in the midfield. His possessional play was a treat to watch.
Kevin De Bruyne: 7.5
Made some delectable passes to set up the attacks from the midfield. His assist to set up Sterling was brilliant.
David Silva: 6
Looked a little off colour in the second half after having a very good first half. Got a little fatigued towards the end of the match and was substituted.
Leroy Sane: 6.5
Missed some crucial passes to set up attacks in the first half. Looked threatening in the second half though and set up Sterling for his second goal of the match.
Raheem Sterling: 8
Another composed performance from the Man of the moment for Manchester City. Scored two brilliant goals in either half to get his side over the line. His classy footwork was a treat to watch.
Sergio Aguero: 6
Did not look like much of a threat for the opposition defence. Got into good space but lacked the finishing.
Substitutes
Bernardo Silva: 6
Did well for his limited time on the pitch and played some very good passes to initiate the attacks.
Gabriel Jesus: 7
Looked to be on target since his arrival and got the result of his good work in the 90th minute.
John Stones: NA
Played too little to warrant a rating.
