Everton bounced back to winning ways in emphatic style as they thrashed Manchester United at Goodison Park by 4-0. Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Lucas Digne and Theo Walcott scored for the Merseyside club as they notched up their biggest win against the Red Devils in the last 35 years in the Premier League.
The Toffees started to find openings from the word go, and it was Richarlison’s acrobatic effort that broke the deadlock in the 13th minute of the match. Sigurdsson made it 2-0 with a powerful strike from 25 yards away to beat David De Gea. In the second half, Everton kept pressing for more goals, and Lucas Digne added to the misery of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men with a brilliant strike from outside the box. Theo Walcott notched up the fourth goal for his side after he was fed by a pinpoint pass from Sigurdsson to seal a memorable victory for the Toffees.
Here is how the Everton players were rated from their emphatic win against Manchester United.
Jordan Pickford: 7
A great day for the England number one in goal as he was relatively less troubled of the two goalkeepers. Should be a big boost after his disappointing performance against Fulham in the last match.
Seamus Coleman: 6.5
Kept getting into good areas with his darting runs down the right flank. Looked a little uncomfortable in the dying minutes of the match.
Michael Keane: 7
A superb performance from the English international as he made sure his former teammate Romelu Lukaku could not get the better of him. Vied well against the physicality of the big Belgian.
Kurt Zouma: 7
Was an equally good performance from the Frenchman as he kept playing on the shoulders of Marcus Rashford and ensured a clean sheet for the Toffees. Made some crucial clearances as well.
Lucas Digne: 8
Kept getting into the crucial areas with his speedy runs as he kept troubling the opposition players with his classy footwork. Scored a brilliant goal with a sublime strike to make it 3-0 for Everton.
Morgan Schneiderlin: 6.5
Looked a little subdued in the opening quarter of the match against his former team. Gained back his composure and vied well for the ball in midfield for the rest of the game.
Idrissa Gueye: 7.5
His presence in the middle of the pitch visibly bothered the likes of Fred, Pogba and McTominay. Kept getting into tussles with the trio and snatched the ball away. Dished out some excellent passes to initiate attacks, one of which was a delectable ball to set up Sigurdsson. No doubt PSG have an eye on him.
Gylfi Sigurdsson: 8.5
The ace Evertonian seemed to be everywhere on the pitch. Scored with a scorcher of a shot from 25 yards out to double the lead for his side. His pinpoint pass to initiate Theo Walcott’s goal was an example of his prompt decision making.
Bernard: 6
Looked to get the ball up the pitch when he got the chance. However, he looked ineffective against the physicality of Ashley Young.
Richarlison: 8
Ended his goal drought with a sublime finish and set the tone for his side to go and get all the three points from today’s encounter. Peppered De Gea with shots from almost all ranges. Had a massive impact on the game before he was forced off the pitch early in the second half with an apparent injury.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin: 6.5
Dished out a brilliant delivery to assist Richarlison for the opening goal. Kept getting into spaces and vied for the ball against Smalling and Jones throughout the match. Failed to find the back of the net though.

His bursting runs kept troubling the United defenders since coming on for Richarlison. Sealed the win for his side with a sweet finish to get De Gea wrong-footed.

Returned to the pitch 15 months after he picked up the horrific injury against West Brom. Played too little to warrant a rating though.
Phil Jagielka: NA
Played too little to warrant a rating.
