Tottenham Hotspur will entertain West Ham United at the new White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon looking to consolidate the third spot in the Premier League table. Spurs managed to bounce back from their 1-0 loss to Manchester City with a 1-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion in midweek which should give them an injection of confidence heading into this clash.
Mauricio Pochettino is expected to opt for a 3-4-1-2 formation and might choose to start with Heung-min Son and Fernando Llorente up top.
3-4-1-2 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup To Face West Ham United
Defence
Hugo Lloris will line up as Pochettino’s first-choice goalkeeper after he kept an essential clean sheet versus Brighton and Hove Albion in midweek. Tottenham could deploy a back three of Juan Foyth, Davinson Sanchez and Jan Vertonghen as the centre-half trio look to work together and restrict the Hammers from scoring a goal.
Spurs would fancy their chances of securing another shut-out at the back as they look to make the new White Hart Lane a fortress in the Premier League.
Midfield
The all-English pair of Eric Dier and Delle Alli could get the nod to feature at the middle of the park as the dynamic duo try to dominate possession and dictate play in the opposition half.
Ben Davies will operate as a left wing-back while Kyle Walker-Peters looks to impress Pochettino down the right flank. Kieran Trippier has featured heavily for Spurs over the past few weeks so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he found himself on the Spurs bench for this clash against the Seagulls.
Christian Eriksen will get the license to get forward as he operates in the number 10 position while trying to create chances for the front players in the opposition half.
Forward
Pochettino could be tempted to start with Heung-min Son and Fernando Llorente up top. Son has been Tottenham’s best player in the absence of Harry Kane so he will be expected to find the back of the net on Saturday afternoon.
Both Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura should be available on the Spurs bench and might come on during the match if required.
