West Ham United will travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on Saturday evening looking to turn their fortunes for the better after losing back to back matches in the Premier League. The Hammers have suffered two successive 2-0 defeats at the hands of Everton and Chelsea respectively. Hence, Manuel Pellegrini’s men would need to put in a big performance at the Theatre of Dreams if they are to have any chance of securing a result away from home.
The London outfit might lineup in a 4-1-4-1 formation with Issa Diop set to be handed a start in central defence.
4-1-4-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Manchester United
Defence
Łukasz Fabiański will play in goal for the East London side on Saturday evening despite conceding seven goals in his past three league starts. The Polish goalie will be protected by the centre-back duo of Fabian Balbuena and Issa Diop. Angelo Ogbonna should be available on the bench and might come on during the clash if needed.
Ryan Fredericks should get another start in the right-back position while Aaron Cresswell would hope to put on a strong display on the other side as the left-back. Even though a trip to Old Trafford might seem a bit daunting for them, Pellegrini has enough quality in his squad to conjure up a result away at Manchester this weekend.
Midfield
Declan Rice will feature as a defensive midfielder once again while the hardworking duo of Mark Noble and Manuel Lanzini would operate just ahead of him looking to create chances in the opposition half. Felipe Anderson will be deployed on the left flank as he tries to cut in and cause a few problems for the Man United defenders.
Marko Arnautovic should keep his place on the right side of the Hammers midfield. The Austrian forward has struggled on the pitch ever since he asked for a move away from London back in January so he desperately needs to find some form for West Ham down the wide areas.
Samir Nasri is a significant doubt and will be in a race against time to be fit for this encounter.
Attack
Javier Hernandez will spearhead Pellegrini’s attack up front. The Mexican international scored a brace of goals against Huddersfield Town a few weeks ago so he will once again be West Ham’s most potent weapon going forward.
