Manchester City will travel to Selhurst Park to clash heads with Crystal Palace on Sunday hoping to get a win and put the pressure back on Liverpool at the top of the Premier League standings. The Citizens fell to a 1-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in midweek so they would be desperate to get back to winning ways versus the Eagles.
Pep Guardiola is expected to opt for a 4-3-3 formation and might make a few changes to his side for this weekend’s encounter against Roy Hodgson’s men.
4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Crystal Palace
Defence
Ederson Moraes will lineup as Guardiola’s first-choice keeper once again despite his failure to keep a clean sheet versus Spurs in midweek. The Brazilian goalie will be supported by the dynamic centre-half duo of John Stones and Aymeric Laporte. They would both look to make essential interceptions and play the ball out from the back.
Kyle Walker will try to use his quickness down the right flank to get to the byline and deliver some dangerous crosses into the Palace box. Danilo might get a chance to feature as the left-back in the absence of the injured, Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Except for their 1-0 defeat away at White Hart Lane, Man City’s defence has been watertight in recent weeks so Guardiola would hope that his players can replicate a similar kind of form on Sunday.
Midfield
The experienced midfield three of David Silva, Fernandinho and Kevin De Bruyne might feature at the centre of the park as they try to dictate play in midfield and create a few decent opportunities for the front players in the Eagles half.
De Bruyne managed to find the back of the net against Cardiff City earlier this month so he will be a potent threat from midfield at Selhurst Park.
Attack
Guardiola’s frontline would be comprised of Sergio Aguero leading the charge down the middle. Both Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva will look to stretch the pitch down the wide areas.
However, it is worth noting that Silva is a slight concern ahead of this game as he might be required to pass a late fitness test after picking up a minor knock last weekend.
Both Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane will have to be content with a place on the Man City bench. The attacking duo might come on to make an impact later in the game if required.
