Everton will play hosts to Arsenal at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon looking to build on their 2-0 win over West Ham United from last weekend. The Toffees have kept back to back clean sheets in their previous two home outings against Liverpool and Chelsea respectively. Thus, it won’t be easy for the Gunners to come away with maximum points from the blue half of Merseyside.
Marco Silva will opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation and might name an unchanged side for this league encounter against the North London giants.
4-2-3-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
Jordan Pickford will resume his goal-keeping duties after keeping an impressive clean sheet against the Hammers last weekend. The English keeper has kept three shut-outs in his previous four league starts so he will be confident about repeating the feat this weekend. The centre-back pairing of Kurt Zouma and Michael Keane will feature at the heart of the Toffees defence as they look to cope with the threat of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
Seamus Coleman could get the nod to feature at right-back while Lucas Digne tries to be productive going forward down the left flank.
It won’t be easy for Silva’s defenders to keep things stable at the back as they will be going up against an in-form Arsenal team that has won three consecutive matches across all competitions.
Midfield
Idrissa Gueye and Andre Gomes will operate as the holding midfielders as they look to win the 50-50 battles against the Gunners midfielders. The dangerous trio of Bernard, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison will operate just ahead of them as they aim to cause a lot of problems for the Arsenal defenders.
Bernard found the back of the net versus the Hammers last weekend so he will be heading into this contest with a lot of confidence.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will spearhead Marco Silva’s attack up front. The Everton youngster has struggled to score goals of late with just one goal to his name in his last four league starts for the Merseyside outfit.
Cenk Tosun will have to settle for a spot on the Everton bench and might come on during the clash if required.
