According to a recent report by the Daily Mirror, Arsenal are lining up a move to secure the signature of Ryan Fraser from Bournemouth next summer. The same source has revealed that the Gunners boss Unai Emery is on the lookout for a new midfielder during the summer transfer period and Fraser fits the bill perfectly.
The Aberdeen born prospect has enjoyed an excellent campaign with the Cherries this season after establishing himself as an integral member of Eddie Howe’s first-team. He has been one of the club’s most consistent performers as he has put in a series of match-winning displays at the Vitality Stadium during this campaign.
Fraser has featured in 36 matches for the team from the south coast of England, scoring seven goals while grabbing 11 assists across all competitions. His excellent displays for Bournemouth has also helped him secure seven international caps for the Scottish national team with Fraser also managing to score one goal for his nation thus far.
If the Scottish talent can continue with his excellent run of form and carry it forward to the new season, then there is no reason why Arsenal should not opt for his services. He is precisely the type of player who can flourish under a world-class manager like Emery if given a chance to prove his worth at North London.
Fraser boasts blistering pace and is a very productive dribbler with the ball out in the wide areas. He has also added a bit of composure and calmness to his game which helps him be more prolific in front of the opposition goal. Furthermore, the Scottish sensation has an excellent football IQ as he often makes the right decisions in the final third.
Hence, Fraser will be a fantastic option for the Gunners as he will bolster Emery’s midfield options significantly at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal have currently got some talented attacking midfielders in their ranks such as Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Alex Iwobi, Aaron Ramsey (leaving Arsenal at the end of this season) and Denis Suarez (on-loan) who are all competing for a place in Emery’s first-team.
Fraser’s addition will not only improve Emery’s squad depth but will also provide more competition for the likes of Ozil, Mkhitaryan and Iwobi who tend to blow hot and cold during a season. There is no doubt that the Bournemouth star will be a brilliant signing for the Gunners if they can successfully lure him to North London ahead of the new campaign.
