West Ham United have had a solid campaign under Manuel Pellegrini’s stewardship this season as they are currently occupying the 9th place of the Premier League standings, just one point off Watford, and four points off Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Hammers are well in contention to secure a top half finish at the end of this campaign so the next step would be for them to challenge for one of the top 6 spots which will, in turn, break the mould of the Premier League ‘Bix Six’.
Pellegrini has bought well in the past couple of transfer windows since arriving at the East London club last summer. Some of his new signings which include the likes of Felipe Anderson, Andriy Yarmolenko, Issa Diop, Łukasz Fabiański and Samir Nasri have all made their mark in West Ham’s promising season in the English top-flight so far. Thus, it would be a real shame if they fail to capitalise on their hard-earned good fortunes by not mounting a worthy challenge for the top 6 spots next term.
One player who Pellegrini should consider signing during the summer transfer window would be PSV Eindhoven’s, Hirving Lozano. The Hammers have already had some success with one Mexican international in Javier Hernandez, so it could prove to be a bright move if they can sign his international compatriot, Lozano next summer.
Despite having a solid campaign so far, the fact remains that the East London outfit have sometimes lacked creativity in the attacking end of the pitch. Hence, Lozano’s acquisition could prove to be a massive step in the right direction as Pellegrini would then have three technical facilitators in his squad in Anderson, Lozano and Yarmolenko while players such as Robert Snodgrass, Nasri and Jack Wilshere can play back-up to them next season.
The PSV forward has also been quite prolific with his goalscoring this season after finding the back of the net 18 times while also providing nine assists in 32 matches across all competitions. The Mexican prospect is pretty quick with his feet and is more than capable of leaving his marker to bite the dust in 1v1 situations. Furthermore, he can make some well-timed runs behind the opposition defence and has also got a keen eye for a decisive pass in the final third.
The 23-year-old boasts outstanding technical ability and is destined to have a very bright future in world football. Hence, Lozano will be a fantastic fit at the London Stadium as he is a player who could come in and help them compete with the bigger teams for a place in the Premier League’s Top 6 next season.
