According to a recent report by Tutto Mercato Web, Tottenham Hotspur have registered their interest on AC Milan striker Patrick Cutrone. The same source has also mentioned that Spurs will face stiff competition from the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid in pursuit of the Serie A talent.
The Italian forward has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at the San Siro since the arrival of Krzysztof Piatek in January to replace Gonzalo Higuain. The 21-year-old has often been used as an impact substitute in recent matches. Tutto Mercato Web has also revealed that AC Milan could be ready to cash in on him if an offer in the region of €30m-€35m arrives for the player as he is still in a long-term contract at the club which runs out in the summer of 2023.
Cutrone began his career at Parediense before his big move to the AC Milan academy as a teenager. The Italian starlet worked his way up the youth ranks before finally breaking into their first-team at the start of 2017. However, he has since lost his first-team privilege despite scoring nine goals and creating two assists in 32 appearances for the Milan giants this term across all competitions.
The Italian Under-21 international has also earned one international cap for his nation thus far which is a remarkable feat for such a young talent. At 21, Cutrone has all the makings of a top-level centre-forward so he needs time to hone his skills so that he can be categorised in the world-class bracket sometime soon.
The Milan youngster is a complete centre-forward as he has decent pace and is also quite powerful in the air. He can be an ideal back-up to Harry Kane if given a chance to showcase his talents at the North London club. The acquisition of a player such as Cutrone will no doubt be a smart signing for Spurs as Mauricio Pochettino are in dire need of some fresh blood in his team.
The Italian talent will strengthen the Tottenham squad and will add more competition for places within the Spurs first-team. He will also be a solid back-up to Kane which is why Spurs should opt to sign him in the future.
