According to the latest reports from the Spanish media outlet Don Balon, Gareth Bale is unwilling to move to Chelsea in the upcoming summer. Real Madrid had hoped that they could use the Welsh international in a bid to lure Eden Hazard to the Santiago Bernabeu, but Bale is refusing to move to the London based club.
All this report comes amidst the fact that Chelsea have been handed a transfer ban and we are yet not sure whether the Blues would get any relief after their appeal. So the news of Bale moving to Stamford Bridge can anyway come to a dead end if Chelsea’s transfer ban is not overturned.
Bale has endured an injury-ridden spell at the Spanish capital, and the Welshman has failed to step up to the plate after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure. With a trophy-less season now more or less guaranteed for Real Madrid, we can see some significant movements happening in the upcoming summer transfer market.
The report from Don Balon also adds that Manchester United are willing to sign the former Tottenham man, but they are unwilling to meet Madrid’s price tag of £103m. One can understand why heavyweight clubs are sceptical of signing him given his injury track record so it remains to be seen whether Madrid would be able to get their quoted price for Bale.
Chelsea brilliantly started the season under Maurizio Sarri, but it is clear now that they are fighting to get in the top 4. The team is often heavily dependent on Eden Hazard, and the manager should want to see more goal scoring contributions from the likes of Willian and Pedro.
Bale would definitely be a decent addition for the Blues especially if they go on to lose Eden Hazard who has given enough indication in the past about moving to the Spanish capital. Bale’s experience of playing in the Premier League would also come in handy, and if the Wales international stays fit, then we can see him tormenting the Premier League defenders from the wide regions.
Real Madrid needed someone like Bale to step up big time after the Galacticos parted ways with their talismanic man in the summer, but Bale has failed to bail the Los Blancos out. Therefore it is no surprise that the club is willing to trade him out to bring in Hazard.
If Chelsea misses out on the Champions League spot, then there is almost a sense of inevitability that the Belgian would depart the club. At least Bale coming in would somewhat reduce the loss of Hazard. However, this recent piece of news is not good for the Pensioners as Bale doesn’t seem to be keen on a move to the Stamford Bridge.
