Celtic were on a run of 11 consecutive home wins when Aberdeen stopped their juggernaut at Parkhead by securing a 0-0 draw. With Rangers dropping points, Celtic had a chance of increasing their lead on the top of the table to 10 points. But the current seven-point lead having played a match less isn’t too bad either.
The Hoops are preparing to take on league strugglers Dundee at Dens Park next, and the away side would go in as favourites for this tie. The Hoops are going through an injury crisis, and Lennon’s one eye would be on the tie against Rangers at the end of the month.
Team News
Callum McGregor is nearing a comeback but he is likely to miss this weekend’s tie. Same goes for Filip Benkovic as he could be back by the Old Firm derby. Ryan Christie is expected to miss out. From the fringes of the squad, Eboue Kouassi and Daniel Arzani are already out for the season. Olivier Ntcham has surprisingly been missing for quite some time, and we don’t see him playing any part in this fixture as well due to injury and fitness concerns.
Celtic Predicted Lineup Vs Dundee
Formation (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Scott Bain has continued as the first choice custodian even under Lennon, and we don’t expect the boss to change that. Dedryck Boyata and Kristoffer Ajer are expected to partner up in the heart of the defence. The two have done fairly well together and it remains to be seen whether Lennon would bring Benkovic back once he becomes available.
Mikael Lustig should be preferred in the right back spot over Jeremy Toljan after the poor performance from the German against the Dons. Kieran Tierney is the obvious choice to start on the left side of the defence.
Midfield
With little to no options, Nir Bitton and Scott Brown are likely to start in the middle of the park. The duo was off the pace especially in the second half against Aberdeen, and the manager would hope for a better performance from them.
James Forrest has gone off the boil in the past few games and Celtic would hope that he finds his form before the big game against Rangers. The Scottish international should start on the right. Young Ewan Henderson has had a decent start to his Celtic career, and he should start in the no. 10 role. Scott Sinclair is expected to operate from the left flank.
Attack
It could go either way between Oliver Burke and Odsonne Edouard, but we are going in with Burke as the man up top.
