According to a recent report by Tuttomercatoweb, Liverpool have sent scouts to monitor the progress of Trabzonspor midfielder Abdülkadir Ömür ahead of a potential move for him at the end of this campaign. The Daily Mirror earlier claimed that the Reds wanted to bring the Turkish midfielder to Anfield during the January transfer window in what was reported to be a £27m deal. However, a move failed to materialise back then and so the Merseyside giants could now (Tuttomercatoweb) reignite their interest on the Turkish Super Lig starlet in the summer.
The Rise Of Abdülkadir Ömür
Ömür worked his way up the youth ranks of Trabzonspor before finally being able to break into the senior team of his boyhood club back in 2016. Now that he has managed to establish himself at the first-team level, this could prove to be an ideal career opportunity for him as he will be joining one of the most successful clubs in European football.
The Trabzonspor teenager has put in a series of impressive displays during this campaign and at the tender age of 19, he has managed to establish himself as a regular first-team starter in the Turkish top-flight. The youngster has made 24 appearances for the Turkish giants this term, finding the back of the net twice while creating six assists across all competitions.
Omur can also play in multiple positions across the midfield. He primarily operates as a right-winger but is more than capable of filling in as a central midfielder.
What Will Omur Bring To Merseyside?
Omur loves to attack and take on his marker down the right flank. He has also shown in the past that he can contribute by scoring a few goals and setting up his teammates in the final third. Moreover, at 19, the Turkish starlet has a whole career ahead of him which Jurgen Klopp could look to benefit from during his time as a manager at Anfield.
The German boss could be the perfect man to develop Omur into a top-class midfielder in the coming years.
How Will Omur Fit In At Anfield?
Omur has all the talent in the world to be a success at Anfield. Some might even say that he could be a fantastic long-term replacement for Adam Lallana, a player whose career at Merseyside has been ravaged by injuries. Hence, Klopp might choose to bring Omur in so that he can finally move the English midfielder on to another club where he might have some better luck with injuries.
The Liverpool manager has shown in the past that he can get the best out of the young talents at his disposal as evidenced by the rise of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Andrew Robertson over the past couple of years. Hence it makes a lot of sense for the Reds to bring the Turkish wonderkid to Anfield as he would add long-term value to the organisation.
