Manchester City will travel to Wales to take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on the back of a 7-0 hammering of Schalke in midweek. The Citizens sealed a safe passage through to the quarter-finals with a 10-2 aggregate scoreline but will now have to turn their attention to the FA Cup this weekend. Pep Guardiola’s men are still chasing a quadruple of trophies this term, having secured the Carabao Cup already last month.
However, it won’t be easy feat for the Mancunian outfit as the fixtures come thick and fast across all competitions. Guardiola is expected to opt for a 4-3-3 formation and might choose to bring back the veteran duo of Otamendi and Kompany for this upcoming cup encounter versus the Welsh opposition.
4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Swansea City
Defence
Ederson will resume his shot-stopping duties against the Swans this weekend after keeping a comfortable clean sheet against Schalke in midweek. The experienced centre-back pairing of Vincent Kompany and Nicholas Otamendi might feature ahead of the Brazilian keeper at the middle of the Man City backline. They will look to cope with the threat of the Swansea attackers and keep things stable at the back for the visitors.
Oleksandr Zinchenko might get another chance to shine at left-back while Kyle Walker looks to impress on the right side of Guardiola’s backline.
Midfield
The Mancunian outfit could lineup with the same midfield three of Ilkay Gundogan, David Silva and Bernardo Silva that started in midweek against Schalke. The Citizens are going through a mini injury crisis in midfield as both Fernandinho, and Kevin De Bruyne are still spending time on the treatment table.
Attack
The Man City frontline would be comprised of Sergio Aguero spearheading the Citizens attack while both Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane stretch the pitch on either flank. The talented trio are in a fantastic run of form so they would once again relish the opportunity of scoring a few goals against Graham Potter’s men on Saturday.
Riyad Mahrez will be available on the City bench but might get a chance to make an impact in the second half if required.
