Leeds United were one of the clubs linked (TuttoSport via Sportwitness) with a January move for Juventus’ young star Moise Kean. The young forward has unsurprisingly struggled for game time with the Italian giants given the options Maximiliano Allegri has at his disposal. Along with the Whites, AC Milan were also interested in this Italian forward.
Reports from Tuttosport (via Sportwitness) indicated that Kean was keen on a January move to the clubs mentioned above, but Juventus stood in the striker’s way. Latest reports suggest that Kean’s agent Mino Raiola and Juventus are set to have a discussion in April regarding the Italian forward’s future.
The 19-year-old has managed to play just 76 minutes of senior team football this season, and one can understand why he might be looking for a move away. It was surprising that Juventus didn’t even sanction a loan move in the winter transfer period.
Leeds United can definitely get a second bite at the cherry if they want to sign someone like Kean. The Whites are in a decent position to move to the Premier League and that might be enough to lure the forward to Elland Road. Until and unless is there a departure from Juventus, we don’t see how Allegri will be able to hand Kean playing minutes as he has three top class attackers in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo, Mario Mandzukic and Pablo Dybala.
Kean has his contract with the Old Lady until 2020 and given his talent; he won’t come in cheap in the summer if Juventus give the forward a green light to leave. The striker’s record at the youth level has been outstanding but he needs to play regular football at this age to continue with his development.
His pace and dribbling skills allow him to play as a left winger as well, but he is best suited to lead the line. United have decent forwards at the moment as Kemar Roofe has led the line well and Patrick Bamford and Tyler Roberts are also reliable options to start up front. United’s ability to attract talents can take a massive hit if they fail to get promoted to the Premier League this season so we believe most of their transfer plans will be on hold at the moment.
The striker has already represented his national team Italy once and is seen as a big talent in his homeland. We believe quite a few Serie A outfits will come in the mix as the summer transfer window approaches. Leeds United should definitely try their luck in the upcoming window to sign him.
