Leeds United dished out a clinical performance away from home at the Madejski Stadium as the Whites got the better of Reading in their Championship clash. Three goals in the first half from the visitors was good enough to get them the victory and a return to the pole position as they push Norwich down to the second place in the Championship table.
It was Mateusz Klich who scored the first goal aim for with a long-range shot to deceive the Reading goalkeeper. The in-form Pablo Hernandez scored the other two goals as he helped the Whites to their 22nd win of this season in the Championship.
Here is how the Leeds United players were rated from their win against Reading.
Kiko Casilla: 7
Did not have to do much as most of the action happened on the other end of the pitch. Was always on his toes throughout the match.
Luke Ayling: 7
Brilliant show from the right-back as he went up the pitch whenever the opportunity was there. Made some excellent interceptions while backtracking.
Pontus Jansson: 7
Did not give the opposition attackers any free space to aim for the Leeds goal. Kept the pressure on them with his physical presence.
Liam Cooper: 6
His partnership in the backline with Jansson was spot-on for the Whites. Looked a little fatigued towards the end though.
Ezgjan Alioski: 7
Kept his position well down the left flank and supported the attackers with accurate passes. Did well to create space with his darting runs as well.
Kalvin Phillips: 7
A decent performance as the defensive screen as he made sure to break down the opposition attacks midway with his interceptions. Took a few knocks in the process as well.
Pablo Hernandez: 9
The star of the show for the Whites. Took his chances with ease and scored two important goals to get his side over the line. Looked like a livewire all night and got the better of Matt Miazga with his sublime footwork.
Tyler Roberts: 6
Looked a little subdued in the first half but did very well as the game progressed. Dished out some pinpoint passes in the danger area.
Mateusz Klich: 8
Opened the scoring with a goal that the Leeds fans will cherish for a long time. Brilliant composure throughout the match. A top-notch performance from the Polish midfielder.
Jack Harrison: 6
Did well to open up the Reading defence with his good runs. Lacked the accuracy in his shots though.
Patrick Bamford: 6
Kept the pressure on the opposition defence and deceived them with his classy skills. Could have done better to get a few shots on goal though.
Substitutes
Stuart Dallas: 6
Kept initiating the attacks from the right-hand side with his accurate passes and darting runs.
Jamie Shackleton: 6
Did well in the limited time he had on the pitch as he came on for Tyler Roberts.
Barry Douglas: NA
Played too little to warrant a rating
