According to a recent report by Gunes, Besiktas president Fikret Orman is prepared to hold discussions with Liverpool regarding cutting short Loris Karius’ loan spell short at the BJK Vodafone Park. The same source has also mentioned that if Orman fails to orchestrate an early return to Merseyside for the German keeper, then he is willing to speak to the player himself to try and find a solution to his dire situation at Besiktas.
This recent development comes after an earlier claim made by Turkiye Gazetesi which stated that the German shot-stopper wanted his nightmare loan spell in Turkey to come to an end so that he can return to Anfield. Karius had earlier complained about not getting paid promised wages since joining Besiktas last summer and Liverpool have backed his claim especially after being baffled by Senol Gomes’ recent criticism of the keeper due to a recent error (via Liverpool Echo).
Both clubs need to find a solution in regards to the German goalie’s future as if the situation keeps escalating, there is a chance that it won’t end up well for any of them. Karius needs more game time to prove his worth at the highest level once again while Liverpool cannot afford to have him back especially after his disastrous display in the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid last season.
If the claim that Besiktas has not paid the German keeper his due wages turns out to be true, then the Turkish outfit might end up getting punished. However, for now, it seems like Karius’ nightmare spell at the Turkish club might get dragged on until an agreement regarding his future can be reached between the two clubs.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are flying high in the Premier League and are also in with a chance of going one step further than the last campaign in the Champions League. Thus, the Reds cannot afford the drama of having Karius back at Merseyside as it might hamper the team’s chances of success on the pitch.
It is clear that there is no future for Karius at Liverpool so if his loan spell at Besiktas gets cut short, then Klopp should consider sending him out on loan again or buying the rest of his contract so that he can be released into the free agent market.
