After an impressive win against West Bromwich Albion at home, Leeds United will travel to Ashton Gate to take on Bristol City this weekend. The Whites are once again back in the automatic promotion spots as Sheffield United slipped up in their last game.
Bristol City are going through a bad patch as they have lost three of their last four games. But they still managed to hold on to the coveted sixth spot which they are fighting for currently. If the Whites play anywhere near the level which they produced against the Baggies, they can once again romp home comfortably. However, we expect it to be a tight game if the home side manages to keep the away side at bay for the first 20 minutes.
Team News
Kemar Roofe is out due to injury. Jack Clarke has started training but is unlikely to be involved in the matchday squad. Apart from that, Bielsa will finally have a strong squad to choose from here.
Leeds United Predicted Lineup Vs Bristol City
Formation (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Kiko Casilla is set to continue in goal for the Whites. The centre back spot should once again be occupied by the likes of Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper. Gaetano Berardi is back fit; but after that performance against the Baggies, it would be unfair to make changes at the back. Bielsa anyway often avoids making too many changes to the starting lineup.
Ezgjan Alioski has thrived in the left back role and he should continue in that spot once again. Luke Ayling has improved after some poor outings, and the manager would hope that he can carry on the good work even in this tie as well.
Midfield
When Kalvin Phillips has a good game, the whole team plays well. The Englishman should once again operate in a deeper role in midfield. Mateusz Klich has been an integral member of the first team, and his energy and link-up play are often crucial. He should start in central midfield. Tyler Roberts should start in the attacking midfield role after impressing in the last game.
Pablo Hernandez is another player who is crucial to Leeds United’s fortunes. He is expected to operate from the right. Jack Harrison should keep his place on the left flank.
Attack
Patrick Bamford finally came off age in United colours and produced a clinical performance against the Baggies. The former Championship player of the season is expected to lead the line once again.
