According to Talksport, London giants Chelsea and Arsenal are both looking to make a move for the Brentford youngster Said Benrahma. The forward has been one of the most highly rated players in the Championship and has already scored eight goals this season for his side.
The player lit up the stadium with his first career hat-trick in the match against Hull City. He has reportedly said that he is willing to play top-flight football with his current club, but it seems that he might be on his way to London with two of the biggest names in Premier League lurking in the wings to secure his signature.
The Rise of Said Benrahma
The player made his way to Brentford from the Ligue 1 club Nice last summer and has proved himself as one of the best forwards in the second division of English football so far. He can score with both feet and is equally effective as a winger on both flanks. However, his form has not been of much help for his side so far this season as they remain at the 15th position on the league table in the Championship.
Apart from being an excellent forward, Benrahma is also an outstanding team player. He has already dished out 14 assists this season so far and has proved himself as a bright future prospect in English football. His diligent efforts have earned rave reviews from many experts and have attracted the attention of quite a few big name clubs from the Premier League, apart from that of the two London giants.
Benrahma operates as a right-winger but is equally capable of playing the leading man up front if the situation demands him to do so.
What Can He Bring To Arsenal and Chelsea?
At Arsenal, there has been a dearth of a quality right winger, especially in recent times. The 23-year-old Algerian winger can be the perfect man to fit into the position, which has been a headache for the manager Unai Emery. The gaffer would be more than happy to have a player with the attacking capabilities of Benrahma in his ranks.
At Chelsea, with the departure of Callum Hudson-Odoi almost a certainty in the next summer transfer window, the pressure is on Maurizio Sarri to either make the player stay put at the club or find a viable replacement for the young Englishman. Benrahma could be the problem solver for the Italian gaffer as his skills on the flanks could come handy for the Blues if they can land him next summer.
How will he fit in at Arsenal or Chelsea
Though Benrahma is yet to prove his capability at the top level, it might be worth a shot for both Arsenal and Chelsea to get the player to their club. His agility, shot-making ability from various ranges and willingness to dish out assists for his teammates could come in handy for both the sides, especially Chelsea, with both their right wingers Willian and Pedro not getting any younger.
