Barcelona will travel to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium to take on Sevilla on Saturday afternoon hoping to return to winning ways after being held to a goalless draw by Olympique Lyonnais in the UEFA Champions League. The Catalans failed to score a goal in midweek which will be a cause for concern.
However, Ernesto Valverde would know that the secret to getting a positive result will hinge on their defensive performance away at Seville. Hence, it would be a big boost for the away side to have Samuel Umtiti back for this game.
Barca could lineup in a 4-3-3 formation with Arturo Vidal set to be handed a start in midfield.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Sevilla
Defence
Marc Andre ter Stegen will start as Valverde’s first-choice keeper while Jasper Cillessen has to be content with a place on the Barca bench. Both Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti should get the nod to begin the match at the heart of the Catalans defence.
Clement Lenglet might be named on the bench so he could come on at some point during the game if required.
Nelson Semedo will play as the right-back despite his heavy involvement against Olympique Lyonnais in midweek. Jordi Alba would hope to use his blistering pace down the left flank as he looks to join in on the attack at every chance he gets.
The away team will need to keep things stable defensively if they are to come away with a win from the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium this weekend.
Midfield
Valverde could choose to start with the midfield trio of Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal as they look to establish Barca’s dominance at the middle of the park.
Phillipe Coutinho will likely be a part of the Barca bench once again but could be used as an impact substitute in the second half.
Attack
The Catalans will have a front three made up of Ousmane Dembele, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi. The Barca trio will link up with each other and try to cause a lot of headaches for the Sevilla defenders on the attacking end of the pitch.
None of them managed to find the back of the net against Lyon in midweek, so this will be an ideal opportunity for them to rediscover their goal-scoring touch heading into the final few months of this La Liga campaign.
