Manchester City will travel to the Vitality Stadium to take on Bournemouth away from home after securing a hard-fought 1-0 win over West Ham United in midweek. The Citizens are trying to push Liverpool in an effort to leapfrog them in the Premier League standings. Pep Guardiola knows that his team needs to win most, if not all, of the remaining games if Man City are to have a fighting chance of retaining their top-flight crown this season.
The visiting team will lineup in a 4-3-3 formation with Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva set to feature from the start in this contest.
4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Bournemouth
Defence
Ederson will operate as Guardiola’s first-choice keeper on Saturday after he managed to keep a clean sheet against West Ham United in midweek.
The experienced defensive pairing of Vincent Kompany and Nicholas Otamendi might play together at the centre of the Man City backline as they look to cope with Joshua King’s threat this weekend. Both Aymeric Laporte and John Stones are out of this clash due to injuries.
Oleksandr Zinchenko should get the nod to start as the left-back once again while Kyle Walker returns to Guardiola’s first-team to feature on the right side of the Citizens defence. Danilo will play back-up to them on Guardiola’s bench.
Midfield
The Mancunian giants could lineup with the midfield three of Ilkay Gundogan, Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva as the talented trio look to dominate the ball at the middle of the park and create some chances in the Cherries half. Fernandinho is still out with an injury which means that Guardiola might prefer to use Bernardo Silva’s energy in midfield instead of David Silva’s guile in this upcoming clash against Eddie Howe’s men.
Attack
The Man City frontline would be comprised of Sergio Aguero leading the charge through the middle while Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane provide the width on either flank. All three of them are in a good nick of form and will fancy their chances of finding the back of the net against a Bournemouth defence that has let in 53 goals in 28 league matches.
Riyad Mahrez will begin the match on the bench but could come on during the encounter if required.
