Newcastle United received a boost in their pursuit to stay in the Premier League with a win in their last match against the bottom-placed team Huddersfield Town. They will look to replicate the result in their next outing as well when they take on Burnley.
The Clarets, on the other hand, pulled off a shock win against Tottenham Hotspur, which has ended the North London club’s run for the Premier League title for this season. Sean Dyche’s men themselves are not having the best season in the top flight and will look to pull off another important win when they lock horns with the Magpies at St James Park.
Team News
Newcastle United do not have any major injury concern to worry about ahead of the next match. Long term absentees like Ciaran Clark and Robert Elliot are set to miss the next game as well. However, Rafa Benitez has the luxury of choosing from a fully fit squad ahead of the important match against Burnley.
Goalkeeper
Martin Dubravka has been in decent form this season and will be the one to start in the goal for the Magpies in the next match.
Defence
The defensive trio of Fabian Schar, Florian Lejeune and Jamaal Lascelles would start in the heart of the defence for the Tyneside club. They would be accompanied by DeAndre Yedlin, who would put in a shift as the right back. Matt Ritchie, who has done well in the left-back role in the recent outings, would once again start in his designated position on the left-hand side of the defence.
Midfield
Young midfield ace Sean Longstaff has done well in the last few matches and is expected to start in the heart of the pitch once again in the next game against Burnley. He would be accompanied by Issac Hayden.
Miguel Almiron is already a fan favourite at the Tyneside club and would start in the left-hand side of the midfield. Ayoze Perez seems to have found his footing on the right-hand side of the pitch as he scored one goal in the win against the Terriers and would once again put in a shift from the same position.
Attack
The in-form striker Salomon Rondon would lead the line for the Magpies. It is good to see that Benitez is finally putting his complete trust in the Venezuela international as the Spanish gaffer will be expecting him to score against the Clarets.
Predicted Lineup: 5-4-1
