Arsenal will entertain Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night looking to continue their recent good form across all competitions. The Gunners have done well over the past week as they secured two successive wins against BATE Borisov and Southampton respectively. However, they will come up against a dangerous Bournemouth side who are quite capable of causing an upset on their day.
Unai Emery will likely opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation and might choose to start with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for this league encounter against the Cherries.
4-2-3-1 Arsenal Predicted Lineup To Face Bournemouth
Defence
Bernd Leno is a definite starter in goal for Arsenal after he kept a comfortable clean sheet against Southampton on Sunday. The central-half pair of Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Shkodran Mustafi are expected to operate at the heart of the Gunners defence for this upcoming clash in the Premier League.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles could start at right-back as he tries to link up play going forward. Sead Kolasinac has been quite productive in the opposition half so he will keep his place on the left side of Emery’s backline.
The Cherries have been scoring goals for fun in recent weeks with Joshua King enjoying a rich vein of form at the moment so it won’t be an easy battle for the Arsenal defenders in midweek.
Midfield
The Gunners might go with the midfield duo of Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira as they look to dictate proceedings in midfield and create some opportunities in the Cherries half. Xhaka has recently shown signs of improvement so he might get the nod to start ahead of Matteo Guendouzi who will be a part of Emery’s bench.
The talented trio of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan could start ahead of them as part of the home side’s attack on Wednesday night. Mkhitaryan managed to grab a goal against the Saints last weekend which will give him some confidence heading into this encounter at the Emirates Stadium.
Emery has shown in recent weeks that he is prepared to rely on Ozil when his side are facing Premier League teams who tend to sit back and defend in numbers. Hence, the German midfielder will likely start ahead of Aaron Ramsey.
Attack
Alexandre Lacazette will play as the lone forward up top after his goal-scoring heroics against Southampton on Sunday. The French forward will hope to keep his good run of form going so that he can be a permanent fixture in Emery’s first-team.
