Rangers ran riot at the Ibrox in the Scottish Cup 5th round replay match against Kilmarnock as they defeated the opposition by 5-0. While Alfredo Morelos notched up four goals to put the game to bed for the Gers, Andy Halliday joined in the act with one goal in the second half.
Steven Gerrard could not have asked for a better reaction from his team after a disappointing 0-0 draw against the Dons in the previous match. The Gers kept pushing from the beginning, and their tactics paid rich dividends as they won the rematch by a dominating scoreline. Their cause was helped by the early dismissal of Kilmarnock goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann in the 25th minute of the match.
Here is how the Rangers players were rated from their massive win against Kilmarnock.
Wes Foderingham: 6
Did not have much to do with all the action happening on the other end of the pitch.
James Tavernier: 7
Brilliant attacking display from the skipper as he covered almost every blade of grass on the right-hand side of the pitch. Looked defensively sound as well.
Conor Goldson: 7
Kept his defensive composure intact throughout the match and helped Foderingham leave the field with a clean sheet.
Joe Worrall: 7
He looked well set beside Goldson and kept the Killie attackers at bay with his timely tackles and interceptions.
Borna Barisic: 6
A decent performance from the left back as he made sure nothing went past him. Looked a little fatigued while going forward. Was substituted as Halliday came on in his place.
Ryan Jack: 8
Was spot on with his hard tackles to dispossess the opposition players. Looked to get the ball into the right areas with his accurate passing.
Glenn Kamara: 7
Vied fearlessly for the ball in the middle of the pitch throughout the match. Went deep in the defensive half of midfield to help Jack on a few occasions.
Scott Arfield: 6
His accurate passes opened up spaces for his teammates on a number of occasions. Looked a bit tired in the second half and was eventually substituted.
Daniel Candeias: 8
His long balls caused a lot of turmoil in the Killie defence. Notched up a hat-trick of assists as he helped Morelos score his first three goals of the match.
Ryan Kent: 8
Looked as lethal as his partner on the other side as the Englishman kept getting the ball into the right areas and deceived the opposition with his classy touch on the ball. Provided a fine ball for Andy Halliday to put his name on the scoresheet.
Alfredo Morelos: 10
Any striker would have been proud of the kind of dominance El Buffalo showed tonight against the Dons. His shots were too good for the opposition goalkeepers to stop and his subtle turns in the box made life difficult for the defenders. Once again showed what a beast of a player he can be on his day.
Substitutes
Andy Halliday: 7
Brilliant attacking display after he came on for Barisic. Notched up the third goal for his side on the night.
Steven Davis: 6
Did well in his limited time on the pitch since coming on for Arfield.
Kyle Lafferty: NA
Played too little to warrant a rating.
