Manchester United will clash heads against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon hoping to return to winning ways after an underwhelming display against Burnley in midweek. The Red Devils are in dire need of coming away with maximum points from this contest as they look to close the gap to Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to claim a top 4 spot at the end of this campaign.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær will likely choose to stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation and might make a few changes to his team this weekend.
4-3-3 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Leicester City
Defence
David De Gea will keep his place in between the sticks for Man United after he conceded two goals against Burnley earlier this week. He can expect a tough afternoon while up against one of the most lethal strikers in Premier League football in Jamie Vardy.
The centre-half pair of Phil Jones and Victor Lindelof should resume their roles at the heart of the Red Devils backline. Marcos Rojo is ruled out of this clash with injury, but Chris Smalling should be part of Solskjær’s bench this weekend.
Ashley Young will operate as the right-back once again while Luke Shaw resumes his full-back duties on the left flank as he aims to link up with the front players going forward. It will be a difficult match for the Man United defenders as they will face off against a solid Leicester team who managed to claim a point against the league leaders, Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Midfield
Solskjær might opt for a strong midfield which could be comprised of Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic who have worked well together in recent matches. Herrera’s absence against the Clarets was a big problem as Man United failed to establish their dominance in midfield on Tuesday night.
However, with the Spaniard now set to return to Solskjær’s first-team, it should be business as usual for the Red Devils on Sunday.
Attack
The Red Devils frontline might include the likes of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata as Solskjær looks to figure out the right formula to break down the Foxes defence this weekend. Rashford has been in a good run of form in recent weeks, so he would be a significant threat for the Leicester defenders.
Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard might both get a start if Martial and Pogba, who are both slight doubts for this game, fails to recover in time for this encounter.
