Celtic have been rocked ever since the news of Brendan Rodgers joining Leicester City came out. The move and especially the timing of it has taken everyone by surprise as there are still a few months left in the season. Most of the Celtic fans can’t digest the fact that Rodgers went from a club like Celtic to a mid-table Premier League club that has not got much to play for at the moment.
However, Rodgers went on to explain his thinking and said (Belfast Telegraph), ”Of course, the big attraction for me is working with the (Leicester) players. It’s a young squad, a very dynamic squad, it’s got huge potential and you’ve got some of the players with good experience also. There was a number of factors in being here and I’m absolutely delighted.”
The Hoops meanwhile appointed Neil Lennon until the end of the season and that is something which has divided opinion among the fans. However, they should have enough points in the bank to see off the Premiership but their aspirations of a ‘treble treble’ have taken a massive hit after the departure of the Northern Irish boss.
Here is how the Bhoys fans reacted.

That is what most of the Celtic fans would be feeling like.
I really feel like crying https://t.co/0QBs2SFj62

Definitely not a bad ploy.
If he loans us the good Leicester YT & buys Ryan Kent strictly for a laugh i’ll let him aff.

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton wasn’t mincing his words as he said, ” The timing of it stinks. He’s going to a club who are playing for absolutely nothing. They’re not going to get relegated, not going to get into Europe.”
“I am really disappointed and I think there’s a lot of Celtic fans out there as well who will feel let down. This is the job that Brendan said was his ‘dream job’. So why is he going now to a club who have nothing to play for?”
"Quite frankly, IT STINKS!" 😡

Glad that some fans still have their sense of humour intact even after the gut-wrenching news.
Benkovic to score the winner in the cup final, secure the treble treble, hold up a fuck Rodgers sign and rip up his Leicester contract, Benko for 10 in a row

We think some Celtic fans are being too harsh on Leicester here. They won the Premier League title not too long ago and have a set of very good young and exciting players. To go with that, they have established themselves as a top half Premier League club. If they are a pub team then don’t know what most of the Premiership teams will be called.

This Celtic fan was certainly not amused by seeing Rangers fans celebrating the departure of their manager.
Aye ok Graham remember that day Rangers won the Brendan Rodgers Exit Cup what a day that was, great memories.

The timing has definitely tarnished his legacy.
See if Rodgers leaves at this stage of the season I’ll lose all respect for him he told us on many occasions he’d see out his contract with us

A tongue in cheek remark but maybe the hidden truth as well. Barring 3-4 teams in the Premiership, Rodgers didn’t even need to turn up as Celtic would be beating most of the clubs given the quality they had.
I won't lie to you. I'm a little gutted I don't get to tweet about beating Partick Thistle on a cold Friday night anymore.

Some fans were positive about Neil Lennon’s appointment.
