It was a nicely poised match at the Hawthorns as the contest between West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City in the Championship ended in a draw. The Baggies took the lead via Dwight Gayle’s strike in the 12th minute as the Englishman continued with his goalscoring form this season. However, his effort was cancelled out towards the end of the match as Jordan Rhodes made sure that the Canaries left the field with at least one point in their bag.
Here is how the Norwich City players were rated from their win against West Brom.
Tim Krul: 7
Had a good match in goal for the Canaries. Could not do much to stop Gayle’s strike. Picked up an unnecessary yellow card in the dying moments of the game.
Max Aarons: 6
Did well to get the ball up the pitch. Lacked a bit of composure while defending though as he let Gayle take a free aim on the goal early in the match.
Christoph Zimmerman: 7
Kept the pressure on the West Brom attackers throughout the match and restricted them from doing further damage after the early goal.
Ben Godfrey: 6
Lacked composure in the first half but did well to keep his side out of harm’s way in the second.
Jamaal Lewis: 6
Tried his best to get the ball up the pitch as much as possible but was bogged down by Mason Holgate on most occasions.
Mario Vrancic: 7
Made accurate passes to initiate attacks from the midfield. Also made sure that he made a few timely interceptions.
Alexander Tetley: 6
Did well to partner Vrancic in the midfield and kept intercepting the opposition attackers.
Emiliano Buendia: 6
Fought against the opposition defenders to get the ball into the danger area but lacked the accuracy.
Todd Cantwell: 7
Ran up and down the pitch in support of his teammates and made a few darting runs whenever the ball was at his disposal.
Onel Hernandez: 7
Did well to go past the opposition defenders on a number of occasions. Took a few knocks as well.
Teemu Pukki: 6
Tried his best to get the equalising goal but was not able to hit the target.
Substitutes
Dennis Srbeny: 6
Did well in whatever time he got on the pitch.
Kenny McLean: 7
Was a brilliant substitution as he made the most of the tired West Brom defenders and produced a brilliant assist to set up Jordan Rhodes in front of the goal in the dying minutes.
Jordan Rhodes: 8
Had an immediate impact as he scored the all-important equaliser to rescue a point for his side within two minutes of his introduction on the pitch.
