Arsenal will travel to Bloomfield Road to take on Blackpool on Saturday evening hoping to seal a passage through to the fourth round of the prestigious competition. The Gunners managed to bounce back from their 5-1 defeat at Liverpool with a dominant 4-1 win over Fulham on New Year’s Day.
They will now take on a Blackpool team which is sitting midtable in the Football League One and are winless in their last four matches. Unai Emery might opt for a 4-4-2 formation and make a whole host of changes for this clash this weekend.
4-4-2 Arsenal Predicted Lineup To Face Blackpool
Defence
Petr Cech will start in goal for the Gunners on Saturday as Bernd Leno drops to the bench to take some rest. The central-half duo of Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Laurent Koscielny might feature at the middle of Emery’s backline for this upcoming league clash at Bloomfield Road.
Stephan Lichtsteiner might start at left-back looking to put in a shift down the left flank. Sead Kolasinac might be handed a rest after being heavily involved in the Gunners first-team over the past month. Carl Jenkinson might make a rare start at right-back as he looks to impress under the watchful eyes of Emery.
The Gunners defence has not kept a clean sheet in any of their past six matches across all competitions, so their fans will hope for a much-improved defensive display against the Seasiders this weekend.
Midfield
Emery is expected to opt for the midfield pair of Matteo Guendouzi and Mohamed Elneny who would both look to establish Arsenal’s dominance at the middle of the park.
Alex Iwobi might feature down the wide areas following a string of impressive displays for the North London giants of late. Aaron Ramsey will be expected to threaten down the right flank and cause a lot of problems for the Blackpool defenders.
Mesut Ozil might be excluded from Emery’s match-day squad once again while the duo of Lucas Torreira and Granit Xhaka are handed a well-deserved rest.
Attack
Both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are expected to lead the lines for the Gunners up top. Emery might choose to name Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the bench as he would want the Gabon forward to be fresh ahead of some important matches in the Premier League.
