Manchester United will face off against Tottenham Hotspur at the Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon looking to continue their remarkable winning run under their new interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær. However, Spurs are currently playing their best football of the season and are the dark horses to win the Premier League. So it would be an extremely difficult test for Solskjær as he prepares his men to claim a positive result this weekend.
The Reds of Manchester will line up in a 4-3-3 formation with Marcus Rashford spearheading Solskjær’s attack up top.
4-3-3 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Tottenham Hotspur
Defence
David De Gea will line up as United’s first-choice keeper once again as he looks to keep the Spurs attackers at bay on Sunday. The Spanish goalie has made some world-class saves in recent weeks which has helped his team continue their winning run going under Solskjær.
The defensive pairing of Phil Jones and Victor Lindelof could be deployed at the heart of the Red Devils defence. Both Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling will not feature in this clash due to injury. Eric Bailly is also suspended for this encounter which has left United a bit short in defence.
Ashley Young will look to put in a solid shift at right-back while Luke Shaw resumes his full-back duties on the other side and cause problems down the left flank. It won’t be an easy outing for the Mancunian giants as they will face off against two of the most in-form players in the league at the moment in Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.
Midfield
Solskjær might opt to stick with his strongest midfield three of Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic as the trio have worked well together over the past few matches in the league. The Mancunian giants are firing on all cylinders right now so they will have another fantastic opportunity to close the gap to their top 4 rivals by defeating Tottenham away from home.
Marouane Fellaini will likely play some part in the game from Solskjær’s bench this weekend.
Attack
The Man United front three will be comprised of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard after their match-winning heroics over the past few weeks which has brought a lot of joy back to Old Trafford. Rashford found the back of the net against Newcastle United last week so he will be confident about repeating the feat against Spurs on Sunday.
Both Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez might be available on the bench so they will hope to come on and make a significant contribution in the second half.
