Manchester United will travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The Red Devils have blown teams away under their new interim boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjær so they would be quietly confident about their chances of getting a positive result against their North London opponents on Friday night.
The United manager could opt for a 4-3-3 formation and might make a few changes to his team for this match.
4-3-3 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
David De Gea will retain his place in goal for the Red Devils after he kept two clean sheets in his last three starts in the Premier League. Sergio Romero might find himself on the bench once again despite getting a start in their third-round win over Reading in the FA Cup.
The centre-back pair of Phil Jones and Victor Lindelof should get the nod to operate at the heart of the Man United defence. However, both Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling will miss out on this clash due to injury.
Ashley Young might be asked to fill in as the left-back, so Diogo Dalot might be handed a rare start on the other side as the right-back. Both full-backs will look to get forward and cause problems for the Gunners defence. It won’t be an easy outing for the Mancunian outfit as they will face off against two in-form Arsenal strikers, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
Midfield
Solskjær might decide to deploy his strongest midfield trio of Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic who worked well together in recent weeks. The Reds of Manchester have won all of their matches under their Norwegian interim manager this season so they would look to keep the run going at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night.
Scott McTominay will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on during the match if required.
Attack
The Man United front three might be comprised of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata as Solskjær looks to find the right balance to break down the Arsenal defence. Rashford has been finding the back of the net on a consistent basis in recent weeks, but both Martial and Mata have had their fair share of struggles in the opposition half. So they would both have a point to prove at North London this week.
Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku should all be available on the bench for this clash versus the Gunners.
