Everton will face off against Millwall at the Den on Saturday evening looking to book their place in the next round of the FA Cup. The Toffees will be desperate to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat away at Southampton, so this match against the Lions will serve as an ideal opportunity for them to get a win under their belt.
Marco Silva’s men have struggled to keep things tidy at the back which has cost them a lot of points in the Premier League of late. A change in competition could help them stop the defensive rot as they look to push on across all fronts for the remainder of this campaign.
Silva will deploy a 4-3-3 formation and might hand Dominic Calvert-Lewin a rare start up top.
4-2-3-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Millwall
Defence
Jordan Pickford will feature in goal for the Toffees while Maarten Stekelenburg has to settle for a place on Marco Silva’s bench. The centre-half duo of Michael Keane and Kurt Zouma could feature at the heart of the Everton defence after keeping just one clean sheet in their last five starts in the Premier League.
Lucas Digne will look to get forward quite often as he resumes his duties as the left-back. Seamus Coleman will be unleashed on the other side as he looks to keep things solid defensively during the game.
The Toffees defenders will be quietly confident about their chances of keeping a clean sheet away at Millwall this weekend.
Midfield
Idrissa Gueye will resume his duties as a defensive midfielder alongside Andre Gomes who would try to establish Everton’s dominance at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Bernard, Gylfi Sigurðsson and Ademola Lookman might lineup ahead of them as part of Marco Silva’s attack.
Sigurðsson managed to find the back of the net against Southampton last weekend which should give him some confidence ahead of this FA Cup clash at the Den.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will lead the lines for the Blues of Merseyside up top with both Cenk Tosun and Theo Walcott set to remain on the Everton bench.
