According to a recent tweet by renowned football journalist David Ornstein, Arsenal have made an attempt to secure the services of Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan on an initial loan deal with a view of making this move permanent for £35m next summer. He also went on to add that the Croatia international is open to the prospect of sealing a move away from the San Siro during this January transfer window.
Arsenal have made an approach to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic. #AFC want loan with £35m option to buy. 29yo open to #Inter exit. Fits plan of versatile midfielder e.g. Suarez (still possible) / Nkunku + winger. Unclear if injuries mean defender wanted but Sokratis not bad

This recent development will be a fantastic bit of news for the Arsenal fans as they are desperate to see their manager, Unai Emery strengthen the squad this month as the North London side are still in with a real chance of finishing in the top 4 at the end of this campaign.
The 29-year-old has been a useful asset at Luciano Spaletti’s disposal at Milan after he put in some match-winning displays during the course of this campaign. Perisic has managed to find the back of the net three times and provided five assists in 25 appearances for the Serie A giants across all competitions this season.
The former Vfl Wolfsburg star had also played an integral part in Croatia’s success in the 2018 FIFA World Cup when the European nation managed to reach the final of the world’s biggest football competition. However, Perisic and co. fell on the final hurdle as France beat them with a 4-2 scoreline in Russia to become the new world champions.
There is no doubt that the Croat’s career has been quite impressive after he played in some of the best leagues in European football. So a step up to the Premier League might not faze him at all. Perisic knows what it takes to win which is precisely the type of talent Emery’s side are crying out for at the Emirates Stadium right now. At 29, the Serie A sensation can still be a menace for the opposition defence down the left flank as he looks to get to the by-line to put in dangerous crosses or go through on goal to score himself.
Thus, this deal could give Arsenal a massive boost in their quest to finish in the top 4 especially after a disappointing FA Cup defeat at home to Manchester United on Friday night.
