According to a recent report by Football.London, the agent of Dalian Yifang winger Yannick Carrasco, Christophe Henrotay has left the door open for a potential loan move to Arsenal before the transfer window comes to a close on Thursday night.
In a recent interview with Radio Rossonera, Henrotay shed some light on his client’s future and said, “Everything is possible but I find it difficult to do so because it would take an important and fast-moving action by the clubs involved to discuss and deal with the current club of Carrasco,”
Henrotay’s recent words will give Arsenal fans some hope of a dramatic loan move for Carrasco on transfer deadline day, but it seems highly unlikely at this moment. However, there is still time for the Gunners to go all out to secure the services of the Belgian international after their recent struggles to bring Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan this month.
The 25-year-old wide man has lit up the Chinese Super League ever since joining Dalian Yifang from Atletico Madrid at the start of 2018. The Belgian talent went on to make 25 appearances in the Chinese top-flight last season, finding the back of the net on seven occasions while providing nine assists. He has also featured in 34 international matches for the Belgian national team and has scored five goals in the process.
When he is playing at his best and firing on all cylinders, Carrasco can be a match-winner due to his incredible quickness and his remarkable ability to dribble with the ball out of tight spaces. The Ixelles born prospect is also highly versatile and can be deployed on multiple positions across the frontline, although, he primarily likes to operate in left midfield.
Carrasco’s potential loan move will undoubtedly bolster Unai Emery’s attacking options at the Emirates Stadium. With Mesut Ozil proving untrustworthy during high-profile matches this season, the Arsenal boss could rely on the Belgian sensation to create decisive chances in the final third. Moreover, the Gunners do not have the luxury of having too many natural wingers in their squad except for Alex Iwobi making this loan deal a welcome one.
Thus, Carrasco could prove to be a shrewd, short-term acquisition who could come into the Emirates Stadium and help the North London outfit claim a top 4 finish at the end of this campaign.
